How much money to start up a neighborhood sports bar?
3M TA3 asked:
I’m thinking about investing some of my cash I have saved over the years and starting a sports bar in the development I am living in. They are building a huge town center and no pubs or bars are there yet. I have never run any bar but KNOW this would go over well if done right….so what suggestions do you have for me and what do you think I would need for finance..Min? Obviously I would serve pub style food too.

Undertake or commission market research study and write a business plan. Email tyneham when you need further advice.

A lot depends on where you live how many square feet you need. In Texas a liquor license is around $3500.00. That’s a drop in the bucket compared to the big picture such as insurance, food permits, equipment, furniture, glassware, product, payroll, etc. Minimum starting from scratch I would say $45,000. Again, that will vary depending on square footage.
Good Luck
