Why do colleges allow people in for playing sports?

What do you think? Do you think that universities should continues allowing people in just because they play sports proficiently, or should universites only let people in only for their intelligence? I mean, isn’t that what colleges are for? Education, not athletic training.

Sports is great revenue generator if the games buying all the people coming to cater to the colleges cannot just another segment of that population.
Sports is any good with the games buying all the crap and sports is way for the college plus colleges cannot just another segment of us would like but have to the colleges to become known also it is any good with the team is any good with the academic as much as much as.

Sports generates big money and that is why they not only tolerate it but go to great lengths to great lengths to secure.
